Join us in learning the Hand Building Technique of Coiling to make your own Vase or small bowl

This class is perfect for first-time potters. Using the technique of coiling on a mold we will make a bowl. Coil pottery is a method of handbuilding pottery where a potter forms a base, walls, and style by combining clay coils. The potter rolls the clay into coils, stacks the coils together, and joins the coils through pressure creating a vessel.

Materials:

All materials will be provided but students are encouraged to bring in small found objects that can be pressed into the clay to create texture. All materials are washable, but students should wear clothes they don't mind getting dusty.

Kiln Firing Included. Raffaela will fire your creation in her electric kiln, making it food safe and dishwasher safe. Firing can take up to 4 weeks.
